BGI put together an unforgettable weekend in Salt Lake City and showed just how much the group is growing. After posting a 76.5 in prelims, the ensemble came back stronger in finals, delivering a more confident performance and raising its score to a 79.4.

That finals jump meant even more than just numbers on a recap sheet. With the 3rd place finish, Boise Gems Independent brought home the first trophy in Gems history, making it a weekend this cast, staff, and community will not forget.

A Big Step Forward

From the first performance of the weekend to the last, the group kept building. The improvement from prelims to finals reflected cleaner performance, more confidence, and a cast that was determined to leave the floor stronger than it started.

For a young program still writing its story, weekends like this matter. Salt Lake City was a chance for BGI to represent Boise on a bigger stage and show that this ensemble is continuing to make real progress.

A Milestone Moment for Gems

Bringing home Gems’ first ever trophy is a huge moment, not just because of the placement, but because of what it represents. It is a sign of progress, a sign that the work is paying off, and a reminder of what this ensemble is capable of becoming.

This result would not have happened without the commitment of the members, the belief of the staff, and the support of families, fans, and the larger Gems community. Salt Lake City was a celebration of all of that, and a strong push forward for the rest of the season.
